Migrating old email, contacts, and calendars to FastMail
This page details how to move old or existing content (such as emails) from your current service to FastMail.
FastMail has a dedicated Help page here for transferring your content from the old email server to FastMail. They also have more specific Help pages for the following:
Transferring existing/old mailbox contents (such as emails) using FastMail’s Email Import tool
In Step 3 of the Email Import tool, it will ask you to have the following settings on hand for PNC / ValleyInternet’s old email server:
- Username: Your full email address
- Incoming (IMAP) server: mail.pnc.net
- SSL: port 993
- Outgoing (SMTP) server: mail.pnc.net
- SSL: port 465
Transferring your contacts
This process will differ depending on the email client you have used and how it handles / saves contacts. Some email clients do not save contacts at all. (Contacts are not saved on PNC / ValleyInternet’s email server end.)
Transferring calendars
This process will differ depending on the email client you have used and how it handles / saves calendars. Most email clients do not save calendars at all. (Calendars are not saved on PNC / ValleyInternet’s email server end.)
You can also return to the FastMail FAQ or the Migration Overview page.
